hello? I'm stressed...

I'm on duty two days, to man the PSLE hotline. These P6 kids really call to say they are stressed. It's so bad for some 12-year-olds that they experience pain in their heart, headaches and sleepless nights. One boy today used the word "piercing" to describe his pain in the heart as he stressed out over his English paper. He felt that if he did not pass his PSLE, his mother would be looked down on by her siblings. I can't imagine a 12-year-old carrying such a burden. I think it hurts even more to hear him say that he's the weakest in his class, the worst class in school.

What's happening to our children? I don't remember feeling the least bit stressed over my PSLE!
